The Israeli History and Law Association
The Israeli History and Law Association was established in 2005. Its purpose was to serve as a meeting place for scholars who deal with various aspects of the intersection between history and law. The association aims at scholars of history, Israeli history, law, Judaic studies, Islam, and the Middle East, as well as classicists, social scientists and others interested in various aspects of legal phenomena. The Association enables researchers to keep informed on contemporary research topics in the various areas, to clarify shared theoretical and methodological issues, to deal with common problems in resources, accessibility to archived sources, databases and others.
The Association’s major activity is its annual meeting, held jointly with Yad Izhak Ben-Zvi
The Annual Conference of the Israeli History and Law Association will take place on Monday, October 24, 2011, in Yad Ben-Zvi, Jerusalem.
See programs of previous conferences (in Hebrew) here.
In addition, the Association maintains a mailing list through which members are informed about research activities in the field that take place at various institutions.
