The Law and Environment Program (LEP) was founded in 2006. Its purpose is to promote the study of environmental law in Israel, and to advance environmental issues at various levels of the academy.

The Program is built upon the success of the Environmental Justice Program, active since 2001 as part of the clinical education program at the Faculty of Law and in cooperation with TAU’s Porter School of Environmental Studies.

The LEP supports environmental-law research and teaching by faculty members, funds scholarships and student prizes, and runs a variety of events, including conferences, the Law and Environment Workshop, and the Environmental Film Club.
